- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (if using email/password) or receive basic profile information from third-party authentication providers (Google, GitHub).

- Learning Data: Vocabulary cards you create, words you save, learning progress, and review history.
- Payment Information: If you subscribe to our premium plans, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Service, including videos watched, words clicked, and features used.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
- Log Data: IP address, access times, pages viewed, and referring URLs.
- Local Device Identifier: A random identifier stored in your browser may be used to count a device once per day. It is not linked to your TubeVocab account or learning data.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and analyze usage patterns.
2.3 Authentication
We use Google OAuth solely for user authentication. When you sign in with Google, we only receive your basic profile information (name and email address) to create your account. We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, or any other private Google services. We do not request any sensitive OAuth scopes beyond basic profile information.
2.4 Third-Party Services
- YouTube: When you use TubeVocab to learn from YouTube videos, we interact with YouTube's API to fetch video information and subtitles. Your use of YouTube content is also subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our Service.
- Microsoft Clarity: We use Microsoft Clarity for session recordings and heatmaps to improve user experience.
- VibeLoft: We use VibeLoft product telemetry to measure aggregate daily visits and display trusted usage statistics in the VibeLoft community. VibeLoft receives the page path without query parameters or fragments, event time, request IP address, a random local device identifier, and a hash of coarse device characteristics. We do not send your TubeVocab account, vocabulary, subtitle, or learning data to VibeLoft.
These analytics and product telemetry tools are used only to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use them to track individual users across websites or services, and we do not combine analytics data with your personal account information.

We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
- Create and manage your account
- Generate AI-powered vocabulary cards based on your learning activity
- Sync your learning data across devices (for registered users)
- Process payments and manage subscriptions

We use Supabase as our database provider, which stores data in secure data centers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

For users who don't create an account, vocabulary cards are stored locally in your browser's localStorage.
